Penacook Church Calls New Pastor

Penacook, NH - United Church of Penacook has selected Pastor Jim Wilson as its new leader, who will begin in January of the new year. The church’s Search Committee chair person, Ken Peperissa, a widely known Merrimack County Scout Leader and retired Associated Grocers of New England Executive said, “The Search Team felt that Pastor Wilson was who God was directing us to. He’s worked in the ‘real world’, managed and run his own business, cut his teeth in prison ministry and helped grow the previous church he led.”

Before entering ministry, Pastor Wilson worked in the tech industry in support of several hedge fund directors on Wall Street for over a decade, before starting his own business as a Technologies Consultant working with businesses up and down the east coast. Upon making his career transition, Wilson cut back on his professional consulting to engage in prison ministry prior to going into full time ministry in pastoring United Church of Warner, in Warner, New Hampshire.

“What confirmed God’s calling me to Penacook was the overwhelming response I received from the believers at United Church.  They are committed to working together with me as a church family, toward making a difference in the community where God has placed us.”

“We believe God has a way of bringing the right pastor together with the right church,” said Search Team member, Lynne Raleigh.  “The congregation is excited about welcoming and working together with Pastor Jim and his wife, Bonnie, to grow God’s kingdom in our community.”

Located in the center of Penacook, at the corner of Merrimack and Canal Streets, United is a “come as you are church” where you’ll hear the word of God taught.  People may visit the church website at www.ucpnh.org or call the church office at 603-753-4072 for further information.
